Paying represents the exchange of goods and trading value for value. To dream that you are paying for something can indicate the way in which you give back to others or the value that you create in exchange for other value. This can be extended to your waking life in ways besides exchanging money for goods or services. It can relate to the way in which you give and receive love, interact with your friends and family, or create value in your career or business. Alternatively, dreaming of paying may indicate that you feel you owe a debt to someone. Paying can also represent the idea of doing whatever you need to do, no matter how meaningless or trivial the task appears, in order to accomplish your goals – as in the phrase, “paying your dues.”
