What does it means to dream Persona?

644

The word Persona comes from a Latin word that describes a mask used by an actor. The Latin word per sonare means to “sound through.” As an aspect of dreaming, the Persona becomes the mask you wear in presenting yourself to the world. It often takes on the symbolism of Clothing where dreams of various types of clothing can represent changes you are making in expressing who you are. Carl Jung believed that dreaming was a way of compensating for the “one-sided” attitude that is often held in waking consciousness. Dreaming of sorting through old clothing can signify sorting through old ways of expressing yourself as you change and grow. Dreaming of packing clothing can symbolize the way you hold to just one way of expressing yourself. Often you will not be able to find some type of clothing when you are overly-identifying with only one aspect of who you are. See also Packing and Purses and Wallets . The Persona is also explored through the other characters that appear in your dream. If you stop and consider the adjective that you would use to describe the person, consider whether or not this aspect is currently being expressed. While we are awake, we tend to hold firmly to one image of who we are, while dreaming is ever leading us forward to explore new ways of tapping our potential. The other people we meet suggest aspects currently undergoing exploration. See People , Dream Basics and Dream Processing .
